No Filter Just Ink
How I Journal for Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Release
Journaling has never just been about keeping notes for me — it’s a ritual. A way to clear my head, unpack emotions, and hear my own soul speaking louder than the noise of the world. Most of Vox Sanctum was born out of random 2 a.m. scribbles and sunrise reflections, proof that even when you think you’re just venting on paper, you’re actually building something sacred.
Here’s how I journal, and how these simple habits give me mental clarity, emotional release, and spiritual alignment:
1. Choose a space where you can fully unwind.
For me, that means privacy, peace, and no judgment — somewhere I can smoke, think, and let my guard down.
Mental relief: A safe space tells your brain it’s okay to relax and stop overanalyzing.
Emotional relief: You don’t have to censor yourself, which lets feelings flow instead of bottling up.
Spiritual relief: You’re creating sacred ground where your thoughts can land freely.
2. Journal at sacred hours.
I love writing early in the morning before or after sunrise — when everything feels fresh — or during the witching hours when the veil is thin.
Mental relief: Early hours give you clarity and fewer distractions.
Emotional relief: Late hours let deeper thoughts surface without interruption.
Spiritual relief: These windows are naturally aligned for reflection, insight, and intuitive downloads.
3. Keep your space clean and stocked with essentials.
Snacks, water, blunt — whatever makes you feel settled and ready to sit with yourself.
Mental relief: A clear space = a clear mind.
Emotional relief: You’re not breaking your flow to get up for little things.
Spiritual relief: A calm environment sets the tone for sacred work.
4. Free write without judgment.
I just let whatever comes out hit the page — no filter, no overthinking. Some of my best Vox Sanctum ideas started as random, intrusive thoughts scribbled in the middle of the night.
Mental relief: Clears the static in your head by dumping it out.
Emotional relief: Feelings have a place to go instead of staying stuck inside you.
Spiritual relief: Shows you that even chaos has patterns — everything you release eventually weaves together.
5. Trust the process even when it doesn’t make sense.
I’ve learned that writing things I don’t understand in the moment is part of how I create. Later, I see the bigger picture.
Mental relief: Teaches you patience with yourself.
Emotional relief: Validates your feelings before you can name them.
Spiritual relief: Affirms that every word has purpose — even the messy ones.
Final Thought
Journaling isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being real. When you give yourself the space to release without judgment, you’re not just keeping a diary, you’re doing soul work. Everything you pour onto the page is shaping you, healing you, and guiding you forward — even if you can’t see it yet.
